Protein supplements, like Orgain Cookies 'n Cream, are the cornerstone of a good supplement program, especially when it comes to fitness.
Of course, you don't necessarily need supplements to get enough protein in a day...what protein supplements offer you is convenience.
It's a lot faster and easier to drink down a protein shake with 20 grams of protein than taking the time to cook up a chicken breast immediately after workout, or mix up a quick protein drink when you're running out the door in the morning.
So with that in mind, I wanted to give you my experience testing out Orgain's new Cookies 'n Cream Plant Protein flavor.
First off, how does Orgain Cookies' n Cream taste?
I'll start off by saying I had to hide this from my wife for the first days to make sure I had enough of it available to test out...she loved this stuff.
Because let's be honest...if a protein drink tastes like garbage, you're not going to want to take it.
This flavor is awesome... you actually DO get the sense that somebody threw Oreo cookies in a blender and you're drinking them when you take this stuff.
It's not an aggressive, overly sweet flavor, mind you...it's a light, pleasant taste and I swear I get little crunchy bits of cookie.
I'm a regular user of protein powders...I've been taking them for more than 30 years.
And in that time, I've come to be able to tell the difference between a good quality protein and a poor quality protein simply by how they taste and how they "feel" in my mouth as I'm drinking them.
Orgain mixes easily and with no clumps and has no weird aftertaste. It's delicious.
Orgain protein is definitely one of the highest-quality proteins that I've tried. Normally, I tend to gravtitate towards when and milk-based proteins, but Orgain plant-based proteins contain a good spectrum of different proteins in order to provide a complete amino acid profile (something you need to be aware of when eating vegetarian protein sources).
I really like the flavor of cookies 'n cream and the sourcing of the ingredients is top notch....everything is organic... even stuff I didn't know COULD be organic, IS organic in here.
The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the addition of erythritol (a sugar alcohol). It's used as a sweetener that won't affect blood sugar. They do use an organic source of it and as long as you don't take massive amounts of the protein at once, it should be no problem.
One other thing to be aware of is that this is not a low-carb protein supplement, so if you're on a low-carb or keto diet, you'll need to factor this in with your food intake.
None of this should stop you from using Orgain or testing it out. The overall quality is outstanding.
Other Orgain Products:
In addition to plant-based protein, Orgain makes a wide variety of other produts, including an organic. 100% grass-fed when protein, collagen powder, keto-friendly proteins, meal replacements, read-to-drink shakes, bars and more.
As you can see in the picture here, I really like their products and stocked up on a bunch of them (my wife loves the plant-based ready-to-drink ones because not only do they taste great, they're convenient for when she has to dash out the door to go to work).
So yep, I'm definitely a fan of this company and their products.
This is a product I can highly recommend from personal experience.
