These shoes are specially designed for 360 degrees of movement, including lateral, explosive training.

How do the Xero Shoes 360's work?
Since Xero Shoes sent me a complimentary pair to test out out, I've been using the 360's as my outdoor training shoes, using them for long distance loaded carries as well as interval training with faster, quicker movements both straight line and laterally to test their capabilities.
I've found the shoes to be very comfortable and supportive for lateral movements...they fit very well.
Personally, I'm a big fan of the "minimalist" shoe concept...no big thick heel to separate your feet from the ground.
If you're a heel-toe runner, these will take some getting used to as there really is no padding in the heel. It'll force you to shift your running patterns a bit but for me, I've found this to be a good thing.
I used these shoes for a long-distance loaded carry (4 miles) on a dusty trail. They held up great...no blisters, no foot pain.
The dust does come right off :).
Bottom line, the 360's from Xero Shoes are a high-quality cross-training shoe, perfect for both indoor and outdoor training, especially for CrossFit style training like rope climbing or sports training that requires explosive movements.
