Nordic Lifting Wrist Wrap Review

Wrist wraps are an indispensable tool in the arsenal of any serious weightlifter or fitness enthusiast.

Designed to provide support and stability to the wrists during heavy lifting sessions, wrist wraps play a crucial role in enhancing performance and reducing the risk of injury. These compact yet powerful accessories have become a staple in gyms worldwide, offering a simple yet effective solution for maintaining proper form and technique while pushing the limits of strength and endurance.

Functioning as a supportive bandage for the wrists, wrist wraps are typically made from durable elastic or cloth materials that are capable of withstanding the rigors of intense training sessions. By wrapping securely around the wrist joint, they help to minimize excessive movement and maintain proper alignment, especially when performing exercises such as bench presses, overhead presses, and heavy lifts.

Additionally, wrist wraps can aid in alleviating wrist discomfort and fatigue, allowing lifters to focus their energy on maximizing their lifting potential without being hindered by wrist strain or instability.

There's not much you can really mess up with this, but they've done a nice job of really optimizing the design. So it's got the little thumb loop, it's got the pad, it's got the velcro right here, and it's got the velcro hook on the other side.

What you want to do here is set your right hand down, set this right on top.

This little loop is going to go over your thumb. So you can see this velcro pad is basically facing outside. Then it's just a simple matter of wrapping that nice and tightly around.

Now, you don't need to go terribly tight, but you also don't want to have it loose on there.

These are not wrist warmers, they're wrist wraps, so they're here for support. Same thing on the other side, and basically when you're using a wrist wrap just in general, you want to make sure that you're not using it on everything.

Like I'm using it on this heavy dumbbell floor press because it's heavier than you can normally use on a regular bench press, and it's going to keep you more secure. It's going to help you feel more secure and use the most weight. It's also a nice reminder to not let your wrist flex back, which can be kind of an issue, like when you're holding a dumbbell or a barbell, to hold the bar right here.

You don't want that. You want the bar stacked over the joints. Something like this can actually keep your wrist as a reminder, not exactly like moving it forward for you, but as a reminder to keep that bar stacked over the joints and the weight stacked over the joints.

That helps not only with support, but with pressing as much weight as you possibly can. So here's what it looks like with a dumbbell floor press. These are just spotter hooks to start to hold the weight up.

Don't use them on everything that you do, but as you start getting into heavier weight, you can use these for support and for kind of a gentle reminder to keep that weight stacked. But don't use these on lighter sets. Don't use them on medium sets.

Save them for the heavier stuff because you really want to build up that connective tissue strength as well.

So bottom line, good piece of equipment that gives you nice support for your heavier sets.
